The HOPE Van
Pilgrim participates in the HOPE Van every third Friday of the month. This community service, put on by Shasta Community Health Center, exists to provide health services and a meal to those in need.
The van is parked outside of Social Services at 2460 Breslauer Way, Redding, CA 96001-4246. You can read more about what the HOPE Van provides here. Our congregation helps by providing food, coffee, and other necessities on our designated Friday at 8:30 a.m. Contact the church office to find out how you can participate.
Adopt a Block
Redding Pilgrim Congregational Church, UCC is now registered to participate in the adopt-a-block program organized through the Solid Waste department of the City of Redding.( See the program page on City of Redding’s website )
The adopt-a-block program involves cleaning up a single block in downtown Redding twice a month. The Solid Waste department provides neon vests, trash pickers, and garbage bags.
The block adopted by this church body is bounded by Shasta, Tehama, Oregon, and California Streets and is shown below.
