January 2016 Learning Co-Co Report
Dear Friends and Family,
Our nursery is now unattended but open for parents to take their littles on in if they become uncomfortable in the worship service. There is a PA system in that room so parents can still listen to the service while their little ones play.
Kelli continues to provide enriching activities for pre-school/K age kiddos in her room.
Kaarin is really enjoying being the full-time teacher for our school age program. The consistency of the same teacher each week is accelerating our children’s learning and their sense of community. Kaarin has decided to not take the salary we offered, instead donating her time as an in-kind contribution to our church. Thank you, Kaarin.
Kaarin and Nancy Dutton are leading our kids in a cute Christmas program to be presented Sunday, December 20th.
Children’s Choir meets Sundays after church with Nancy.
Ann is leading the Faith Formation sessions with our 6th – 12th graders. Some of these young people may choose to be confirmed in the spring.
Our adult Faith Forum completed a 24 week study with Bart Ehrman’s lecture series, “How Jesus Became God”. Our next book will be Catherine Keller’s “On the Mystery: Discerning Divinity in Process”. Ann has pre-ordered some books so see her if you’d like one or buy one on your own. We will try to read the book through once on our own and then begin meeting on January 11th to discuss it chapter by chapter. All are welcome to join us at 2:00 on Mondays in the Fireside Room.
Our Pilgrim book cart and library have many interesting and inspiring books for you to take home to read and share.
As always, we welcome new ideas for learning opportunities for our congregation. Please contact your Learning CoCos: Andrea Gibbens & Paula Kahler
